Photography

To me, photography is an art of observation. It's about finding something interesting in an ordinary place. I've found it has little to do with the things you se and everything to do with the way you see them
-Elliot Erwitt

Why do I love photography?
I love it because it allows me to express my creative side that I don't normally get to use. Being able to see lines, curves, and angles in something ordinary and taking a photo that makes the ordinary look extraordinary is rewarding.

What got me started?
I got into photography as it has always been an interest to me. Love the impact a good photo has on an individual. What really inspired me was some photography accounts on Instagram. I started looking up videos and information about photography. I taught myself how it works and also how to Photoshop pictures.

These are some of my pictures :

To the Left was the before picture. To the Right is the after. I added light  edited her skin, and blurred the background.

To the left is the original. To the right I changed the color of her dress, added light, edited skin, and cropped the picture.

On this picture I made the person levitate.

This is why I love photography because you can so many things with it. I normally love taking portraits of people, but I also like taking pictures of landscapes, plants, and many different things. I hope my  photography improves and hope it will take somewhere in life with it. It's a great hobby and I think everybody should try it.

Assignment 8

1. Go to http://disneyworld.disney.go.com/new-fantasyland/ and look around it a little bit. Now go to http://www.byteland.org/angeloflife. Now why do you think the .com website is more exciting than the .org website?
I think the .com is more exciting because the .org is more for organizations. .com is used more for kids. it includes more fun things than what .org pages do. I think the .org is made to inform you and not to entertain its very basic compared to the Disney website.

2. Why do you think the Disney website has more hyperlinks, advertisements, and other distracting options to click on?
I think it has a lot of , advertisements, and other distracting options to click on because a lot of people know that the website is visited by many people. Since it's very popular, people want to be advertised. Companies are willing to pay a lot of money to be advertised with  popular websites.

3. If you had to construct/create your own webpage from the beginning, what would you want it to be about and why?
I would want it to be about music. I really love music and it means a lot to me. I think there are many musicians out there surfing the web and would be interested at looking at a webpage about music.

4. How many programmers do you think would have to work with you to make your website possible? Would it seem impossible to construct/create a webpage by yourself? Why?
If I wanted a really cool and attractive webpage I would need a lot of programmers. Each would do a different job and make the webpage successful. I think if I wanted to do a cheap webpage I could do it by myself. However it would not be successful.

5. What would you want to name your website? Type that name into the web-address bar, is it taken already?
www.musicisme.com

yes

6. Explain why webpages with flash videos, images, and color take longer to load than pages with only text?
They take longer to load because all the features need more time to load. Videos need a lot of internet connection to play properly.

Assignment 7

1. What problems does the article mention that children run into when they use search engines?
A problem that children run into is using search engines. they ask  questions directly. they have trouble finding things. It mentions that children often have trouble find the correct thing on search engines.

2. What suggestions have been offered for how search engines can improve their product to lessen children’s problems searching?
They are making the search of results more for kids. Instead of searching the specific word or sentence. The alternative would be to show any type of image or video in which they would just click on. Then that would lead them to what they want to search

3. Do you search using keywords or questions? How does the  article characterize these two types of searching?

Most of the time I do search using keywords but other times I just type what I feel will specify the results. The article specifies these two types of searching by explaining the differences between them.  Its says that to find the information you want, it is necessary to type the right keywords.
4. Have you tried using images or videos to search? How does the article characterize this type of searching?
I have tried using videos and images to search before. But I don’t do this so often because sometimes it does take longer to find what I am looking for.  When I research, I just use keywords  to find information on my topic through Google. If I need to find an image, that's when I use Google images.
5. What advice would you give to Internet search engine developers (like Google or Bing) for how they should improve their product? Do you think any of the improvements mentioned in the article are particularly promising? Why?
I would give the developers of search engines is to not always put Wikipedia on top, to put more reliable sources first. An idea mentioned in the article that I liked was the using images to search for things. I think its a lot more user friendly and easier, therefore attracting more users.

Questions about the polls

  1. Do you think the results are 100% accurate? Why or why not?
I think the results are not 100% accurate because not everyone answered them. However, the people that did answer them I can kind of guess which person was the one that answered the question.

2.How much of an impact do you think the wording of the questions has on the answers you received?
I think the way I worded the question did not affect the answer because my question really straight forward with simple, easy answers. They were not hard questions that could.ve impacted the answer.
3.Did you get the results you expected from your online polls? Why?
I did get the results I expected. I made questions and answers that I knew people would actually choose from those. I also knew from knowing the boys that they would choose a specific answer that I knew they would choose.
4. If you wanted to do an online poll with the students of Technologico de Montorrey asking them how much time and effort they spent doing homework this year, what are the steps you would take to complete that online poll?
To complete an online poll for students at Tec de Monterrey, I would first open my blogger then click on Principles of Technology. Then click on Google docs where they will create a form by clicking tools. Once the new form is ready,  I would choose a type of poll. Then I would create it, put a tiitle on it, questions, and answers. After creating the poll, you link your poll by highlighting the text then by clicking link. Finally your poll is ready to be answered.
    5. Do you think online polling could help the administration of Tech de Montorrey find out more about their students? Or do you think that the results would not be accurate? Why or why not? I think the online polling could help because they get to know more about the students. They can know what their like and dislikes are
6.How do you think the results of your polls would be different if you asked your classmates the questions in person?
I think I could be more detailed on my questions. We could've discussed more about the answers.
7.In what ways do you think online polling using Google Spreadsheets can be improved? Or was it easier to create an online poll than you originally thought? Explain.
I think it can improve by not making so many different pages like going back and forth to get to each page. this will make it faster and more simple.
